In a small town, something happens almost every day that matters to the people who live there: a road closure, a local event, school news, a police notice. That kind of information is usually scattered — noticeboards, local community groups, flyers — with no single place where residents can learn about it instantly, filtered to what actually interests them.
KesziChannel and VeresInfo are each a town's own local news app. On first launch, the user picks from eleven topics that matter to them — shops and services, traffic, council news, local politics, events, education, sport, police notices and more — and a badge on each topic shows how many unread stories are waiting. A story can carry a picture and a video, and some come with a poll and several answer options, with the results tallied automatically. A push notification alerts the user to every new story, and the town's own staff upload the content through an editor console.
After KesziChannel launched in Dunakeszi, the same system got its own look and its own content for Veresegyház as well, under the name VeresInfo: the two towns manage their news independently, each in its own app and its own editor console.
